COVID-19 Precautions
We are currently only asking people to wear masks if they have symptoms.
If you have symptoms of COVID-19, please take an antigen test before attending the practice.
If your test is positive we can offer a telephone consultation as an alternative.

Doctor Visit Card Application
As you may be aware, the government recently announced the expansion of free GP care to all children under the age of 8 and to households earning below the new median income threshold. Eligible current practice patients can apply in the coming months as follows:
· If your child is aged 6 or 7, you can apply online for a Doctor Visit Card from 11th August 2023.
· If your household earns below the median income (€47,000 per year after deductibles) you can apply online for a Doctor Visit Card. The extension of free GP care on income grounds will take place in two phases, on September 11th and November 13th.
If your child turns 6 before 11th August you must apply again.

Please note that all patients applying for a new Doctor Visit Card are asked to apply to the below GPs in the practice.
This will not affect your choice of GP to attend but will help us to manage our patient lists effectively.

About Blessington Family Practice
Blessington Family Practice is a General Medical Practice located on Main Street, Blessington, Co. Wicklow. It was founded in 1989 by Dr. Brendan O'Brien, who has now retired. His daughter, Dr. Andrina O'Brien and partner, Dr. Nathan Wall, now run the practice.
Our surgery is wheelchair accessible with on street parking available directly outside the premises. We offer a wide range of services to medical card and private patients including general medical care, maternity care, minor surgery, childhood and adult vaccinations. We also provide clinics for the management of chronic diseases including diabetes, asthma and COPD.
Other services are also available. We are always happy to discuss your needs and provide appropriate services.
